On Tuesday the 2/16, Hyde seniors Zoe Dorian and Tierra Williams will be defending their Maine State Wrestling Championships at the 3rd annual Maine High School Girls’ Wrestling Invitational, hosted this year by Gardiner High School in Gardiner, ME.
Zoe enters the tournament as the defending champion in her weight class and has earned a 16 - 6 varsity wrestling record this season. She enters this weekend’s Class A League tournament as the 6th seed and has qualified for the 2010 New England Preparatory Schools’ Championship.
Tierra enters the tournament as the two time champion and outstanding wrestler. She has never lost to a female wrestler outside of he United States Girls’ Wrestling Association National Wrestling Tournament, where she has earned All American honors twice. She enters this weekend’s Class A League tournament as the 6th seeded wrestler with a 10 - 7 varsity record.
Both of these young women are very gifted, hard working wrestlers and they are very proud to be defending their State Championship titles on Tuesday!
