Whether home or away, we always leave the locker room cleaner than we found itONLY AT HYDE.

IT’S CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND IN MAINE!!
2/13
- Class A Wrestling Tournament | 9:30 AM: tournament is at Choate Rosemary Hall Academy at the W. Johnson Athletic Center. Wrestling has a goal of placing in the top 4. After a great showing at the New England Invitational, where they placed 5th this team seems to be peaking at the right time.

2/13 - Class B Boys Swimming State Championship | 10:30 AM : The meet will take place at the University of Maine at Orono swimming facility. The swim team seems destined for great things this weekend as Won Ho ‘10 and company ready to make a splash in the States.

2/13 - Class D State Basketball Tournament | 11:30 AM: Hyde vs. Forrest Hills at the Augusta Civic Center. The Men’s Varsity Basketball team has a big challenge this weekend and with hard work and a good attitude this team will continue on in the tournament.

2/15 - Class B Girls Swimming State Championship 10:30 AM: The meet will take place at the University of Maine at Orono swimming facility. This team may be small in numbers but giant in heart. Look for Mariel Frost to lead the lady Phoenix this Monday.

Mission Statement: to physically and mentally challenge individuals to test and discover their character and potential.

All students play three sports during the academic year–one per trimester. The soccer team that advances to the championship game or the basketball team that hoists a division trophy on their shoulders is not necessarily stacked with the school’s most talented athletes. These teams are comprised of students with steadfast dedication to improve as players. Their commitment to fellow teammates brings them success–both on and off the field (or court, ice, wrestling mat, river). And even on those occasions when the final score doesn’t favor Hyde, the athletes are cheered into the locker room by dozens of adoring, blue-and-gold-painted fans…that’s sports fans.

Students who’ve never played a pick-up game of basketball can find themselves on championship teams. An athlete who plays soccer like she was born wearing cleats, may give up the perfect shot to allow a less experienced teammate have a chance at glory. Which one are you?
