Bath, ME—On Friday, February 19 through Sunday, February 21, two female faculty members along with six female students from Hyde School will venture to Eustis, Maine, for the First Annual Hyde School Women’s Art Retreat.
“This is an excellent opportunity in the midst of winter to take time away from our busy lives and deepen our relationships with each other and, most importantly, with our creative selves,” states Heidi Newberg, Hyde School art teacher.
This is a guided retreat experience in which everyone participates in all offerings. The activities include art, snowshoeing, meditation/yoga, sleeping in a yurt, eating meals and creating art in a heated lodge.
“It’s an opportunity to explore art, creativity, winter-pause, and silence in the company of women,” adds Newberg.
It will also be an “unplugged experience,” meaning the group is encouraged to leave phones, iPods, and musical devices behind.
