In their fourth game in five nights, the weary Phoenix from Hyde school boarded the buses to head south to the Waynflete School in Portland.  In the last meeting between the two schools, the contest had required overtime to settle the score.  On this night that would not be the case.  Despite a horrific foul shooting percentage, the Phoenix pulled out a victory to round the week 4-0.  Harry Smith ‘10 played staunch defense down the stretch, helping to contain the one scoring threat that the Flyers from Waynflete had.  Ted Cercos ‘11 struggled in his usual shooting roll, but his impact was felt none-the-less through his composure and ability to get to the free-throw line.  Mike Keane ‘11 found himself in foul trouble and spent time on the bench but still managed to piece together 3 assists and 3 steals for the Phoenix. Brendan Hyland ‘11 stepped up big in lieu of Keane, helping to sure up the defense late in the game.  The Phoenix finish the season on the road this week against Old Orchard Beach on Thursday and Kent’s Hill on Friday.  Seeding for the tournament is still unsure going into the final games.
