The Phoenix Varsity Wrestlers opened the 2009 - 2010 season over the weekend, wrestling 5 dual meets and finishing the weekend 2-3.

On Friday night, Hyde School traveled to Governor’s Academy to take on GA and Roxbury Latin.  Hyde lost a close contest to Governor’s 41 - 39, and was outpaced by the very tough Roxbury squad.  The standout of this tri meet was junior 152 Jon Levitt who battled in both of his matches, finishing 1 and 1 on the evening.  Jon’s defense was critical in both matches and his 6-4 victory over GA was well earned indeed.
