On a cold January afternoon, The Lady Phoenix took a short trip to Portland to take on Waynflete in what was a challenging matchup for Hyde. A strong first half and a balanced scoring effort were not enough to fend off the opposition, who scored 17 points in the second and third quarters to extend their lead significantly going into the end of the game. Waynflete was led by powerhouse Morgan Woodhouse, who was a thorn in the Phoenix’s side with 26 points on the night. Hyde was lead by Katy Duchesneau with 10 points, Scout Gauld with 8 points, Brittney Harris with two 3-pointers for 6 points, Sage Harris with 6 points, Alyssa Thomas with 5 points, and Shannon Vize with 2 points. The Hyde Phoenix look ahead to their final contest of the season and an opportunity to pick up a win in a home game on February 4th versus Old Orchard Beach, who they fell to 27-36 earlier this year.
