Lady Phoenix Fall Short to Lady Lakers

Hyde - 34
Rangeley - 49

The Hyde Women’s Basketball team was plagued by another lapse in the third-quarter last night, one that ended up handing them their second MPA loss of the season. The Phoenix started out strong, going up in the first quarter and looking dominant on offense. They forced Rangely to commit many turnovers early in the game. Rangely warmed up in the third quarter, however, and Hyde was unable to sustain its offensive efforts, scoring just 11 points in the second half of the game. Scoring for the Phoenix was led by Sage Harris, Alyssa Thomas and Scout Gauld, with 10, 9, and 8 points apiece. Alyssa Thomas continues to be a strong rebounding force and Katy Duchesneau displayed tenacious man-to-man defense. The Hyde Women will have one day of practice to recover from the loss and prepare to go up against NYA tomorrow evening. The squad is looking for a win going into the winter break, and knows exactly what it needs to do to get one.
