The Men’s and Women’s varsity teams took a long, cold road trip up to Calais on Saturday, December 12th to take on the Calais Blue Devils. While they started out the first half strong, the Lady Phoenix were outscored in the second and third quarters by a strong and post-dominant Calais team. Hyde clawed its way back into the game in the fourth quarter, but ran out of time in their efforts towards a comeback. Sage Harris was the high scorer for the Phoenix with 15 points, shooting 7 for 8 from the foul line. As a team, the Phoenix shot 62% from the line, converting on 18 out of 29 free throw attempts. Alyssa Thomas and Scout Gauld also contributed to the scoring efforts with 11 and 9 points apiece.
