Hyde - 0
Berwick Academy - 0

The Hyde Phoenix wrapped up the regular season with an exciting game against Berwick Academy.  The game was a late addition to the schedule and proved to be an even match despite Berwick’s superior class C status.  As the opening whistle blew it was clear that it would be a race against light, as the sun was already beginning to sink.  Cold and windy, the girls were hoping  to score early.  Berwick began stronger and kept the ball in Hyde’s end for the first fifteen minutes of the game.  After a shot that hit the post, the team rallied for the first time.  Hyde began to dig in and create opportunities.  With 25:00 minutes left to play Zoe Dorian ‘10 scored but the goal was recalled due to a dangerous play call.  Both teams had other opportunities but it remained scoreless at the half.  The second half saw great efforts by senior Mariel Frost ‘10 at striker and Kayla Sheldon ‘11 in the mid-field.  Berwick continued to play hard and Hyde couldn’t seem to maintain control of the ball.  The game was called with 8:00 minutes left to play due to lack of light and potential dangerous play.  Hyde now prepares for the first round of the MAISAD tournament on Wednesday, November 11 at home against Gould Academy.
