The Hyde-Bath cross-country teams competed in their state prep school championships today (MAISAD Championships).  The weather and course conditions cooperated for a perfect setting for this meeting… hosted at the University of Maine-Augusta campus.  Attached are the complete meet results for the boy’s and girl’s varsity races and the boys JV race.

The Hyde’s boy’s team had its fifth through eighth runners sidelined for this championship meet.  As a result, today’s five member team finished fourth in the six team competition.  In a personal best 17:22 (for 5K), Zach Pfosi `10 finished in fourth place behind Gould Academy’s top three runners.  Ryan Sunshine `12 in a personal best 19:00 came in 11th place and Richard Stites `11 (a personal best 19:14) finished in 16th place overall.  Rounding out our scoring team were Sol Melendy `10 in 28th place and Robbie Palmer `13 in 36th place.  There were a total of 40 runners in the men’s race.

Like the boy’s team, the Hyde girls competed with only five runners today (several were also sidelined).  While the race times of those who competed were among the best of the year, the Lady Phoenix had to settle for a last place finish of the four scoring teams (30 total runners).  Leading Hyde was Emma Falkinburg `13, in 15th place overall (25:17).  Hailun Ni `10 finished 19th and Barbie Gimbel `10 finished in 20th place.  Our other scorers included Lily Smith `11 in 24th place and Erin Fonseca `10 in 30th place overall.
