Hyde - 0
Kents Hill - 3

Kents Hill School traveled to Bath to play the Phoenix yesterday. The weather was overcast and cool. The Hyde Junior Varsity boys played well against the skilled team from Kents Hill. Hyde played aggressively in the first half of the game, keeping the ball in the attacking third of the field for a significant amount of time. However, despite their hard work, the score at half-time was 0-0. Noteworthy play came from Brad Samuels in goal. He made some beautiful saves on well struck shots. His willingness to learn this new position and his positive attitude has been an example for others to follow. Alex Armstead had an outstanding game. He did a great job of intercepting passes and disrupting the flow of their offense. He was tenacious and exhibited poise when under pressure.

Kents Hill scored three quick goals late in the game on break-aways.  They made good tactical adjustments and capitalized on their fast attacking players by continually sending the ball deep into Hyde’s defensive third and running onto it. Though the Hyde lads didn’t come away with a win, they have a lot to be proud of; they played with heart, were deliberate in their actions and displayed exceptional class and sportsmanship. The regular season concludes this Saturday with a game at home with Gould Academy.
