Friends of Hyde,It was a cool and rainy day as the Hyde men’s and women’s cross-country teams headed inland to compete at the Hebron Invitational. We ran against all our fellow MAISAD schools… Seacoast Christian, Elan School, Gould Academy, Hebron Academy and Kents Hill School. Below are the complete meet results for the men’s and women’s races.
Forty-four runners competed in the men’s race. The Hyde Phoenix came away as the overall meet victors!!!

Standouts for Hyde included 1st place finisher Zach Pfosi `10, 7th place finisher Ryan Sunshine `12, 8th place finisher Richard Stites `11, 13th place finisher Sol Melendy `10, and 17th place finisher John Garvey `11. Rounding out our scoring team (our top seven runners) were Isaac Preston `13 in 22nd place and Jan-Christian Damon `12 in 25th place. Our “pack time” (i.e., the time spread between Hyde’s first runner and fifth runner) improved 40 seconds to 3:40.
On the women’s side, 27 runners competed from the same six schools. Hyde was missing four of its women’s runners including our lead runner, senior Jessica Drymer. In the meet, stepping up and taking 11th place overall was Emma Falkinburg `13. Barbie Gimbel `10 was second for Hyde in 13th place overall, with Jessica Smith `10 and Hailun Ni `10 taking 15th and 17th place. Athena Liao `10 rounded out our scoring team in 21st place. The team results had Hyde finishing third out of four scoring teams.
